Reduced to Random…As I Type…

It’s true that I have been swamped with life lately;  a move, a vacation to visit family, school physicals, school registrations, settling my oldest into the dorm, figuring out bus schedules, Back-to-School orientations, welcome picnics, settling into our new house, address changes, PCM visits, finding new dentists for everyone, registering vehicles… and one home sick as I type…

It’s not that I haven’t had the desire to write.  It’s just that when I get a moment those poignant thoughts seem to have slipped out of my head on the way down to the basement to put in another load of laundry.  Not to mention the thousand things that need to be done that side track me on the way downstairs.  Really, it’s too bad that I have to walk through my kitchen to get there.  Oh, gosh.  I’ve got to get dinner in the crock pot.  In fact, I haven’t really done much laundry come to think of it and it’s piling up as I type….

Since this about Diabetes…yes, I forgot to bolus for breakfast this morning and only realized when my Dexcom alarmed with a slanty arrow up.  Thank you Dex for keeping me on track when I forget.  Despite the fact that you were a lot lower than my sensor…man, feeling funny….Nice, 67.  Funny, didn’t hear that alarm despite Dex being beside me as I type…

Well, since I’m reduced to random again and another pile of pressing is crowding out what I had intended to say, I’m going to go enjoy a cup of tea and a cookie.  At least this time I have a reason for the random as I type…

Level and Calm!

So, since I’ve missed two weeks already and can’t seem to find time/mental energy do a new blog post I thought I’d dip into my past offline posts again…

Level and Calm!

There we have it.  Perfect glucose numbers throughout a couple of very stressful days culminating in being rear-ended on the interstate in heavy traffic, saying goodbye to my hubby at the airport, and the two hour drive home.  I managed to only take one wrong exit on the way home but got back on track after three crossings for the price of two (tolls) across the mighty Hudson River.

And my Dex stayed level and calm.

So now, with a sore neck, I contemplate what to fix my kids for dinner.  I should have already had the roast in the oven two hours ago.  New dinner plan needed.  How about grilled cheese and tomato soup?  I vote yes.  I’ll probably bolus for a glass of milk and call it a night.  Wait, still have to play chauffeur for the kids.  Sigh.  My bed is calling but will have to be lonely a few more hours.

And my Dex stayed level and calm.

Good to note that although I felt a bit shakey and weird after we were hit my glucose stayed level and calm.  Good to note that after calling the insurance company my glucose stayed level and calm.  Good to note that after checking to make sure my husband’s return flight wasn’t cancelled my glucose stayed level.  Good to note that despite being informed of a death in the family only to be amended a day later to his being on life support and not sure of his status that my glucose has stayed level and calm.  Good to note…while there is much going on at present in my life, my Dexcom is reporting a glucose that is level and calm.  Thank you Dex.

It’s nice to have some level and calm when I need it.
